Fees

TeachOn collects a 4.9% fee on every transaction for US account holders. The majority of these fees go towards Stripe. For more information about Stripe’s fees you can visit: Stripe Pricing.

Who can use the app?

You must be 18 years or older to use TeachOn.

What data does TeachOn collect?

Registration information

When you create your TeachOn account you will be required to provide certain personal information, which may include your first and last name, a user name (which can be your email address), a password and/or other information. We also collect and store any additional information that you provide to us in your profile, which may include: your time availability, your location and address, pictures you choose to post, etc.

Stripe information

TeachOn tracks certain user data points that assist with customer support and troubleshooting. This data is stored for our own internal purposes, and includes the items that come with granting access to your Stripe account. This data includes:

• Stripe tokens – So the app can make charges on your behalf.
• Stripe Account Id – So we can identify your account to help troubleshoot any issues you may be having.
• Crash-related data – we utilize AWS (Amazon Web Services)

Data Storage

We use an encrypted database that is hidden behind Amazon Web Services’ Elastic Cloud. We can delete this data at any time upon request.

The following items are stored on our servers:

• Profile information
  • Name, Description, Username, Profile picture
  • Profile settings
• Stripe information
  • Transaction amounts
  • Payment IDs
  • Account IDs

The following items are stored on your device:

• Cookies (used for authentication, sessions, and analytics)

The following items are NOT stored by TeachOn:

• Credit cards and accompanying information
• Social Security numbers
• Passport or other identification images
• Bank account numbers
• Addresses
• Phone numbers

Because the TeachOn app relies on Stripe, it is not necessary for us to duplicate data that is already stored securely in your Stripe account.

Loss of Data

Since TeachOn relies on Stripe, we have no control over what happens with their servers. If you wish to delete your Stripe account, you can do so at Stripe.com or you can contact us at support@teachon.org and we can delete the account on your behalf.

Removing your account

Send an email to: support@teachon.org with the subject line REMOVE ACCOUNT and we will remove any data we have related to your account. We’ll be sorry to see you go.

What data rights do you have?

You have the right to delete your personal information. When you request that we delete your personal information, we take several steps:

• Remove your name from the database
• Obfuscate your email address
• Obfuscate your device ID
• You have the right to access any data that you provide to TeachOn.
• You have the right to take your data with you. This is commonly referred to as The Right to Portability.

How do you exercise your data rights?

Send an email to support@teachon.org with the subject line DATA RIGHTS and let us know if you’d like your personal information deleted. We’ll ensure your requests are met and completed within the required 30 days. By connecting TeachOn to your Stripe account you agree to allow us to store the above data.

A sub-processor is a third-party company that is used to process customer-related data. We’ve included the name of these companies, how we use them to process data, and links to their resources on customer privacy and security.
